Dear Friends
When I innocently said to a few close friends that I was looking for something worthwhile to be doing for a few hours I had spare during the week, I was not really thinking of the role which presented itself! However, I am really looking forward to working closely with our Minister Susan and the challenges that this role will place before me.
The hymn ‘O Jesus I have promised’ (CH4 644) reminds me of the promises I made when I joined the Church (quite a while ago) and again when I became an Elder at Barnhill St Margaret’s. I try to live up to these promises and hope that I can do justice to the faith put in me by those who have appointed me to this new role of Pastoral Assistant.
I am really looking forward to getting to know more of our Church family in the coming months and ask you to bear with me and have some patience as, although I am quite good at recognising faces, I am not so good at remembering names!
Many thanks for the cards and many good wishes that I have received and I would like to thank especially my family (Ken, Lisa, Ross, Greg and Scott) for understanding my commitment to work for God within His Church.
