Golf Competition 2010

Nineteen teams took part in our annual Mixed 2 Ball Foursome competition on a pleasant August afternoon. All enjoyed themselves - even your webmaster whose run of good golf came to an abrupt end!

Competitors met in the Monifieth Golf Club after the event for an enjoyable supper - chef Ian's roasts are gaining fame throughout Angus and further afield!

The Winners
Ian & Rosemary Lee (left) receive their

while scratch winners Iain Ross &
Ann Chree (left) look on.

The best net score (44⅔) of the day was returned by Ian and Rosemary Lee, winning the trophy. Runners up were Johnny and Carole Milne with 47⅔. Best scratch score was returned by Iain Ross and Ann Chree. Edith Black again won the Over 80 award with an excellent 55⅔.Nearest the pin: Ladies - Sue Baxby; Gents: Eric Page.

The Organisers
Carolyn Robertson, Aileen Hutcheson,
Fiona Robertson and Ann McKay.

In case any one is wondering how you can have a golf score ending in two-thirds it is as a result of the competition being played over 13 holes, and handicaps were adjusted accordingly.

A total of £650 was raised from the golf and the raffle, proceeds going to the Hall Fund.

We are grateful to the organisers (right) for all the effort that they put in to making the arrangements for a very enjoyable outing. Thanks are also due to the many contributors of raffle prizes and, finally, to Monifieth Golf Club for hosting us once more.
