Message from Guild President....

It seems no time at all since I wrote my Autumn message and now it will soon be Christmas. We have had some very interesting speakers at our Guild sessions and recently invited the members of Monifieth Parish Guild to join us for our evening meeting where Dr Fiona Douglas gave a very moving talk about her “Reflections on Remembrance.”

Barnhill St Margaret’s Guild was established in 1921 so we are 90 this year. To celebrate this event we had a cake with candles and invited the ladies from Kingswell, our Guildlink, to join us for our Dedication Service and later to all have lunch together at the Woodlands Hotel.

At our Coffee Morning we celebrated with balloons and birthday cards and I would like to say a big “thank you” to all our helpers, to everyone who donated to the various stalls and to all of you for your support at the Coffee Morning where we managed to raise over £1300 for our Guild Projects.

Our Afternoon Guild meets once a month in the Hall and is very well attended. The ladies enjoy the talks and always invite the speakers to join them for afternoon tea with sandwiches and home baking. This year they are having their Christmas party in the hall with the evening Guild having their Christmas dinner at the Woodlands Hotel.

On behalf of the members of Barnhill St Margaret’s Guild I would like to wish you all a happy Christmas and a healthy and peaceful New Year.

Linda Stark
