Baptisms & Weddings

Baptisms

The Church of Scotland practices adult and infant baptism. For the baptism of infants, one or both parents ought to be members of the Church of Scotland. However another family member is permitted to act as sponsor and take the baptismal vows, if they are members of the Church of Scotland. A short service of thanksgiving for the birth of a baby is also something that can be arranged to take place during morning worship, if that is a preference for parents. Please contact the Church office in the first instance and they will arrange for a minister to speak to any parents of young children and discuss infant baptism or a liturgy of thanksgiving further.

Weddings
